    Instant messaging service, Viber , has added a new ‘Chat Leaderboards' feature to its Android app to celebrate the 2018 World Cup , currently underway in Russia. Viber is well aware of people's interest in getting together during events like this to make predictions on the outcome of games, and this new feature is designed to carry on that tradition, albeit through the instant messaging medium.
    Just like fans would elsewhere, once a leaderboard has been set up, users will be able to make their predictions on a game-by-game basis and see how the leaderboard changes over time with the scores...

    It's goal time! The World Cup kicked off in Russia today, bringing together this blue marble's 31 finest national football teams, and England, for a kickabout. Video games want in on this too, including Fortnite Battle Royale , though I'm not sure players quite get the sporting spirit. Epic's free-to-play shooter has added a number of football pitches complete with kickable balls, and right now these are flooded with players trying to score goals to complete one of this week's challenges.
