1 month ago - By Android Headlines

HTC's newest smartphone, the U12 Plus , does not support wireless charging. For those that might have started following the company in the past few years, that may not be surprising. But HTC was one of the first manufacturers to adopt wireless charging, many years ago. In fact, the HTC Droid DNA it did for Verizon had wireless charging. So why not add wireless charging to the U12 Plus? It does have a glass back after all. HTC clarified the matter to AndroidHeadlines, providing what's essentially the same explanation other manufacturers previously used when omitting the said feature.

1 month ago - By Business Insider

HTC's newest flagship phone is here.
On Wednesday, HTC unveiled the the U12+, a high-end Android smartphone aimed at the Samsungs and LGs of the world.
The HTC U12+ is the only flagship phone HTC plans to release this year - there's no standard HTC U12. The "+" was likely added to denote the phone's place among other premiere smartphones like the iPhone 8 Plus and the Google Pixel XL.
And the HTC U12+ does have many of the features we've now come to expect on a high-end smartphone: a stellar dual camera , a nearly edge-to-edge display, water resistance, fast charging, and no headphone...

  • HTC Explains Naming Scheme Behind The “U12 Plus” Moniker

1 month ago - By Android Headlines

HTC's newest smartphone is the U12 Plus , which is a bit weird because there is no regular U12 in this lineup. It's just one smartphone even though typically the “plus” in a smartphone name indicates a larger version of any given flagship. But that's not the case here. When asked about it, HTC stated that this was something that the company tossed around internally and finally decided to go with the U12 Plus naming because it made sense, based on the specs and the size of the U12 Plus. Its specs are right inline with something like the Galaxy S9 Plus, and its size is a bit smaller than...

Hands On With The HTC U12 Plus Android Flagship

1 month ago - By Android Headlines

HTC has finally taken the wraps off of the U12 Plus smartphone, its one and only flagship for 2018. It actually retains quite a few features from the U11 that the company announced in 2017, but improves on them all. First of all, it does have a slightly larger display, coming in at 6-inches. HTC has upgraded the internals as well, so it has all of the usual specs you'd find in 2018. Like a Snapdragon 845 chipset, 6GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of storage on board. On paper, it's a smartphone that really should sell well, but as always, the specs aren't the entire story.
