David Copperfield's secret magic techniques crash-landed on the Moon

The loss of Israel's Beresheet lander during its descent to the lunar surface was unfortunate, but the mission was still largely a success - and has certainly created an interesting cultural artifact on the moon where it impacted. Perhaps more interesting than we could have known: It turns out David Copperfield stashed the secrets to his illusions onboard, and they may have survived the crash.
The data was kept on one of the Arch Mission Foundation's tiny, high-capacity, high-endurance archival devices, meant to act as libraries or time capsules in a variety of sci-fi-sounding scenarios...

This is the last thing Israel's lunar lander saw before smashing into the Moon

3 monthes ago - By TheBoyGeniusReport

Last week, Israel attempted to do something that only three other countries have accomplished in the history of mankind by landing a spacecraft on the Moon. The privately-funded mission, which is the first of its kind to attempt such a lofty feat, ultimately came up a little bit short.
The Beresheet lander experienced a major engine malfunction during its descent. The spacecraft's handlers managed to restart the engine and bring it back online, but by that point the lander was already speeding towards the lunar surface where it crashed moments later, but not before snapping one last photo...

Getting so very close to being the first successful landing of an Israeli spacecraft on our Moon meant Israel MUST try again. It came so close. It even took a selfie. But with only a few kilometres left to descend, something went wrong and the spacecraft Beresheet veered out of control, taking one final photograph just before it hit the surface. It is thought that there was a fault, possibly in the inertial system, possibly an engine failure, that led to the crash.

Israeli nonprofit SpaceIL has officially decided to build a second lunar lander after its first lunar lander crashed into the surface of the Moon last week. Morris Kahn, the Israeli entrepreneur who backed much of SpaceIL's first mission, announced the decision on Twitter this weekend. However, the nonprofit has not provided many details about when and how the second mission will take place.
“In the light of all the support that I've got, from all over the world, and the wonderful messages of support and encouragement and excitement, I've decided we're going to actually establish Beresheet...
