• Steam Link iOS app returns for real this time

4 days ago - By SlashGear

Apple is being criticized, even sued, for holding its App Stores so tightly to the point of being anti-competitive. Of course, it rightfully owns that App Store and until something drastic changes, what it says goes and app developers have no choice but to find ways to compromise. That seems to be the situation Valve found itself in last year...

Valve's Steam Link app finally appears on the App Store almost a year after Apple's rejection

4 days ago - By Macworld

Last May, Apple caused some controversy in the gaming community when it rejected Valve's Steam Link app from the App Store merely a day after Valve announced it. Steam Link is now back for the iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV, though, and you can download it through this link for iOS. Steam Link is a free app lets you stream games from your PC or Mac to your iOS device or Apple TV, so long as you're on the same network. (You also don't need the physical Steam Link hardware to do this.) You can do this over Wi-Fi, but Valve itself says you'll be best served if your computer is hooked up to an...

Valve's Steam Link app is finally available for iOS and Apple TV

4 days ago - By The Verge

Valve's Steam Link app is now available on iOS devices and the Apple TV, almost a year after Apple initially rejected it for “business conflicts.” Steam Link allows you to beam your existing library of PC games to other devices on the same network; the app is Valve's replacement for a now-discontinued streaming box that carried the same name.
The news comes days after the Supreme Court ruled that Apple must face an antitrust lawsuit related to alleged monopolistic practices around the App Store. It's notable, however, that the new iOS Steam Link app doesn't allow users to purchase games...

Due to violating many of App Store's guidelines, Valve's Steam Link app was rejected by Apple last year, so Android users were the only ones to be able to bring desktop gaming to their smartphones and tablets.
Well, it looks like Apple and Valve managed to address all the issues so that gamers could enjoy their library of games on iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. Steam Link for iOS is now available for download via App Store and enables Steam users to play their games on their mobile devices while connected to their computers.

  • Steam Link now lets you beam Steam games to your iOS devices

4 days ago - By TechCrunch

About a year ago, Valve announced that it was building an application called Steam Link. It'd let you stream Steam games to your iOS or Android device, with a computer on your local network doing all of the heavy computation.
Then Valve submitted it to the iOS App Store and... Apple rejected it. At the time, Valve said that Apple pinned the rejection on “business conflicts”.
A year later, it seems said conflicts have finally been resolved. Steam Link for iOS just hit the App Store .
Because there's no way most PC games would be fun on a touchscreen, you'll probably want a controller...
